Jeanette Walls book The Glass Castle was a good book with
its ups and downs. While reading this book I found myself getting upset, like
why would their parents be so selfish? Her mom had a teaching degree and refused
to use it, when times got real tough she would get a job but that never lasted
long. And her father being an alcoholic and unreliable, the way he scammed
money out of his kids made me extremely upset. Even though the kids didn’t live
the ideal life they still had respect for their parents, and cherished
everything they had even if it wasn’t much. All the kids learned from their parent’s
mistake and made a good life style for themselves as they got older. Even though
I had my ups and down reading this book I greatly enjoyed it, it made me
realize how lucky I do have it at home. I would encourage people to read The
Glass Castle.
